Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Topictionary website ("the Site") and its Discord bot ("the Bot"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or the Bot.

Topictionary provides bilingual (Japanese / English) conversation topics, readings, and community answers through a public website and a Discord bot. The service is provided free of charge on a best-effort basis.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

Some features (topic requests, community answers) require you to sign in via email, Google, or Discord. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

You retain ownership of topic requests, answers, and other content you submit ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Topictionary a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, translate, and distribute it within the Site, the Bot, and the associated Discord server.

You agree not to submit content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit toward minors, or otherwise inappropriate. We may remove User Content or suspend accounts at our sole discretion.

You agree not to (a) attempt to interfere with or overload the Site or the Bot, (b) scrape or bulk-download content in violation of robots.txt, (c) reverse engineer the Bot or its API, or (d) use the Service to violate any law.

The Topictionary character, illustrations, logo, and original topic data are owned by the author. You may link to the Site freely, but commercial use of the character or artwork requires written permission.

The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. Topic content may contain adult themes — use at your own discretion. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for damages arising from your use of the Service.

The Site links to third-party services (Discord, Ko-fi, SUZURI, Booth, etc.). We are not responsible for the content or practices of those services.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version takes effect when posted. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Japan.
